How to get BART alerts? ›

Text "START" to 732278 to receive BART Service Alerts. Message and data rates may apply. You will receive up to five (5) message per week. Text "HELP" for help.

Permits are required for (electric only) motorized scooters/two-wheeled vehicles. Smoking or vaping is prohibited in stations or on trains. Gasoline, flammable or volatile solvents, acids, or hazardous or explosive materials are not allowed in stations or on trains.

Youth & Senior Discount

Youth 5-18 years old get 50% off with a youth Clipper card. Seniors age 65 and over get 62.5% off with a Senior Clipper card.

Verify Notification Settings

Open the main Settings app on your device, then tap on Notifications. Ensure that BART is listed and is not set to Off. Tap on BART and make sure that Allow Notifications is enabled. You will most likely want Show on Lock Screen to be enabled as well.

A: Yes. BART Officers may take enforcement action off of BART jurisdiction, anywhere within the state of California. If there is immediate danger to persons or property, BART Officers may arrest, cite and release, or warn the perpetrators.

Can you drink water on BART? ›

Smoking, eating, drinking or using music/video players without headphones is not permitted in stations or on trains. Violation of BART rules may lead to a citation and fine. Persons with disabilities may ride with their guide, signal or service animal.

"According to both state law and BART policy, passengers can drink and eat all they want in the 'Free Area,' which we define as the portion of the station that's outside the fare gates where you don't need a ticket," BART Police Chief Gary Gee said.

Q: Are pets allowed on BART? A: Pets must be properly secured in an enclosed carrier manufactured for transport of a pet when entering BART. Pets on leashes are not allowed. Trained service animals assisting people with disabilities are allowed on a leash or harness.

You can get a 6.25% discount on BART rides ($45 for a $48 ticket or $60 for a $64 ticket) when you load BART HVD (High Value Discount) tickets on your adult Clipper card.

BART SeRvICe OveRvIew BART provides service to 48 stations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hours of operation are generally from 4 am to midnight on weekdays, 6 am to midnight on Saturdays and 8 am to midnight on Sundays and major holidays.

Live BART will instantly locate the nearest BART station, and display all the upcoming real-time estimated departures for that station. Additionally, you can also choose to select any other BART station, and get its estimated departures.

Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap the plus “+” icon. Select “Clipper card” under Transit, tap Continue. Select “Transfer Existing Card” and follow prompts. Place your Clipper card on a flat surface and rest your iPhone on the bottom half to complete the transfer.
